SCHUYLKILL COUNTY ECONOMIC ORGANIZATIONS,
EDUCATIONAL PROVIDERS TO HOLD SKILL GAP MEETING
POTTSVILLE, Pa. Representatives from seven Schuylkill County economic organizations, along with a number of Schuylkill County educational providers, will announce the results of a recent Skill Gap Business Survey meeting on Wednesday, April 4 at 8 a.m. at the Schuylkill Technology Center’s North Campus, Frackville. A continental breakfast will be served starting at 7:30 a.m.
The survey was compiled by Pennsylvania Career Link, the Northeast PA Manufacturers and Employers Association (MAEA), Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO), Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce, Penn State Schuylkill, Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC), and the Schuylkill Technology Center (STC). The purpose of the survey was to determine what skill areas are not being met within the county’s workforce, and to inform companies about the training available to meet those needs. The survey was distributed to the members of the Northeast PA Manufacturers and Employers Association (MAEA), Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce, and compiled by Pennsylvania CareerLink.
The meeting will include the survey results, information on Incumbent Worker Training Grants that are available to companies, and an economic forecast. Additionally, Schuylkill County’s educational providers will be on hand with information on their various programs.
There is no cost to attend the meeting. For more information, please call the Pennsylvania CareerLink at 570-622-5253.
