Events : Sam Liberto and Jane Ashton Speak at U.S. Department of Labor's WIRED TDL Institute
Today, ThoughtDrivers President Sam Liberto presented at the US Department of Labor’s “WIRED” Transportation, Distribution & Logistics (TDL) Institute. The event was held at the FedEx Institute of Technology on the University of Memphis campus in Tennessee. The WIRED initiative is a national workforce and economic development program, which closely aligns with ThoughtDrivers and PITT OHIO EXPRESS ‘industry partnership’ work. The companies initially entered into such partnerships primarily to garner incumbent worker grant dollars. However, industry partnerships are now giving rise to SafetyBox™ and CUBE-IT® deployments with other member companies. Equally exciting, the partnerships themselves will soon begin piloting these powerful, yet easy-to-use tools for their own governance. Specifically, the Northeast Pennsylvania Logistics and Transportation Industry Partnership has agreed to evaluate SafetyBox and CUBE-IT for quantification and reporting of its successes to state government. Without such tools, assessing critical metrics—employee impact, company impact and community impact—is nearly impossible.
Co-presenting with Liberto was Jane Ashton, Director, Workforce Development, Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry. Ashton is the lead coordinator for the Northeast PA L&T Industry Partnership, to which PITT OHIO belongs.
